Wildernest is within nudging distance of Sinhagad, on of the most popular forts of Maharastra. It was originally known as Kondana and is 2423 ft above sea level.

It is a trekker's delight because of the panoramic view it offers of the Deccan region and from its historic ramparts one can get a breath taking view of Pune thesurrounding lakes and also the neighboring forts of Torna and Rajgad.

In the old days so the story goes th Kondana forts was a strategic outpost overlooking pune and its capture was vital for Emperor Shivaji's plan to gain control over pune. The fort rechristened Sinhagad meaning the fort of the lion to honour the courage of his Genral Tanaji, Who laid his life while capturing it.
